Day 3- Wednesday, May 26, 2021 Around the Sea of Galilee & Baptism
Start your day with a short hike across the famous “Jesus Trail” on top of the
Arbel Cliffs, tracing the route Jesus may have walked, connecting many sites
from his life and Galilean Ministry
View the Ancient Galilee Boat discovered buried in the mud near the shore of
the Sea of Galilee. Positively dated to the First Century BC, this could have
been the very same vessel on which Jesus sailed the Sea of Galilee.
Take a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee, followed by a traditional St Peter’s
fish lunch.
Visit the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus is believed to have delivered
the Sermon on the Mount.
Continue to Capernaum, mentioned over 50 times in the New Testament as
the town where Jesus lived and preached
End the day at Magdala, home of Mary Magdalen and, in Biblical times, a
prosperous fishing town and site of one of the oldest synagogues discovered.
Day 4 - Thursday, May 27, 2021 Upper Galilee & Golan
Traveling north, you will visit the Banias Springs, the site of Caesarea Philippi where the Lord asked the famous question, “Who do you say that I am?”
Continue to Kibutz Misgav Am on the Lebanese border for a strategic view and explanation of the region.
Lunch at Kibbutz guest house
Afternoon baptism service at the Jordan River, and return to our Tiberias hotel for dinner and overnight
Day 5 - Friday, May 28, 2021 Armageddon, Mt. Carmel & Caesarea
Traveling through the Galilee, you will drive by Nazareth for a panoramic view of the valley of Jezre’el from the Mount of Precipitation, believed to be the site of the Rejection of Jesus described in the Gospel of Luke .
Drive through the plains of Armageddon, the prophetic site of the Armageddon military campaign.
Ascend Mt. Carmel (Muhrakah) to the place where the Prophet Elijah called on God who answered by fire.
Lunch en route
Continue on to Caesarea on the Mediterranean Coast, built by King Herod,who renamed it Caesarea in honor of the Roman emperor, Caesar Augustus. Here Pontius Pilate governed and the Aapostle Peter baptised the first recorded gentile convert to Christianity — Cornelius, a centurion in the Roman army. The Apostle Paul was imprisoned here for 2 years.
Continue on to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight at our Jerusalem Hotel.
Day 6 - Saturday, May 29, 2021 Jerusalem New and Old
Your morning starts visiting the biblical archeological site of the City of David, walking through the underground Hezekiah Tunnel, and arriving to the Western Wall for prayer.
Lunch in Bethlehem
Visit the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem and the Shepherds’ Fields. Here, the Gospel of Luke tells us, an angel announced the birth of Jesus.
Day 8 - Monday, May 31, 2021 Jerusalem, the City of Gold
Start your day ascending the Mount of Olives, for a panoramic view of the city. The Mount of Olives is frequently mentioned in the New Testament as part of the route from Jerusalem to Bethany and the place where Jesus stood when he wept over Jerusalem
Descend to the Garden of Gethsemane, where it is told in the Gospel that Jesus spent his last night there praying: "And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray" (Matthew, XXVI 36).
Enter Jerusalem’s Old City starting at the historic Lion’s Gate, walk along the Way of the Cross, pausing at the Pools of Bethesda, identified as the scene of one of Jesus’ miracles. This was the healing of the paralysed man who had waited for 38 years for someone to help him into the pool “when the water is stirred”.
Pass under the ancient arch is known as Ecce Homo, which means in Latin “This is the man”. According to the New Testament (John 19-15), these were the words of the Roman governor Pontius Pilate, when he presented Jesus to the crowd, before sentencing him to death.
In the afternoon share communion and worship at the Garden Tomb, site of an ancient Jewish tomb which many believe is the site of Jesus of Nazareth’s burial and resurrection.
Tour the Israel Museum, home to the Model of the Second Temple and the dead Sea Scrolls.
OR Tour the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial and Museum
Visit St Peter in Gallicantu, located just outside Jerusalem’s Old City, on the eastern slope of Mount Zion. This is the spot where, according to tradition, Jesus was jailed after his arrest by the Romans.
Visit the Friends of Zion Museum, telling the story of Christian Zionists who have supported a Jewish Homeland with courage, and in many cases have sacrificed their lives to protect the Jewish people.
